Alicia Bailey, aka “The Global Texture Specialist”, is an industry guru, author, speaker,
life/executive coach, individual business owner with Total Life Changes, salon owner of
Flawless Sessions Hair Salon of GA and former owner of Flawless Unisex Hair Salon in
Hampton, Virginia. With 30 years as a licensed Master Cosmetologist and Instructor she
possesses a wealth of experience with all hair types and textures. She holds a BSBA in
Business Administration/Finance and MAED in Secondary Education and is also a
certified English teacher for Secondary Education.
She is a woman who wears many hats and strives to help individuals become the best
versions of themselves—Mind, Body and Soul.
She has been an Educator for McBride Research Laboratories (MRL) since 1999 and
her career continued to flourish over the years. With numerous awards to show for her
hard work and dedication, Alicia continues to excel as an industry leader and is an asset
to MRL. She is currently the global education manager for MRL and is passionate about
leading and developing training programs for the educational team around the world.
Her love for hair and education has been the driving force of her success. She is a
former columnist for Sophisticate’s Black Hair Magazine and continues to share her
knowledge globally through articles in MarthaStewart.com, Byrdie.com, and GMA.com
Alicia released her own memoir, Through The Fire, But I Don’t Smell Like Smoke which
addresses various topics that affect women. Through her personal experiences she
speaks candidly about trials to triumph.
With her love for art, music, travel, and adventure, she is humbled by the opportunity to
see the world and meet new people. The “road less traveled” is the one she chooses to
take as she has always been a leader. Her husband and her children are the loves of her life and she
prides herself in doing all that she does solely for them. She loves singing, cooking,
reading and working in the yard. Alicia believes that all things are possible when one
has a grounded foundation.

Her strength, will and determination will inspire all. “Through the Fire But I Don’t Smell Like Smoke” will encourage one to change their perspective in times of adversity. She exemplifies the true meaning of being refined by the fire of many afflictions and through grace has learned what it takes to pursue a journey of greatness to become the best woman she can be. Alicia started the Women of Greatness movement in 2017. It was a mere dream of many years that had finally come to fruition and her mission is to touch and empower others with her story. She encounters many worldwide that are hurting and discouraged by feelings of defeat. She desires to help women walk in greatness in every area of life despite situations of their past. After reading her story, there is no way that you will not be inspired to continue your own journey towards greatness and a completely fulfilled life.
